Good progress on this! I just wanted to suggest a clarification of:
- As the US based organization in support of an international site, The Appropedia Foundation hopes to encourage partner non-profit organizations in other countries that can help to expand the culture of collaboration through local support of Appropedia.org
I'm unclear on the significance of specifying other countries... (do we mean "around the world", ie including the US?) Does local support of Appropedia.org mean financial, i.e. providing a channel for locally tax-deductible donations? (I'm not sure that's what's meant, but it's one interpretation that came to me.) --Chriswaterguy · talk 17:26, 22 November 2007 (PST)
- A very valid question... I'm currently struggling with the wording. My goal is to somehow convey Appropedia as an international site, with international perspective and aspirations, and even to some degree an international present. And yet I can't get around the fact that Appropedia Foundation is a US group. In hindsight, I wish we had name it Appropedia International or something like that, but that would have been only half the problem. That would have suggested an umbrella group, which doesn't seem right.
- What I don't want is to convey this idea that we're a US-centric group who is gonna tell you what your problems are, then tell you the solutions to your problems.
