World Socialism is far from a new idea. How about some detail on what could be done, to make it work this time?

Note, I mean to be constructive. I'm a big fan of Orwell, and I'm sympathetic to socialist ideas even though I'm not really a socialist. --Chriswaterguy 07:13, 25 October 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well, it's a bit difficult to give sufficient detail when you're limited to around 500 words. Also, world socialism, by definition, would have to operate on a global scale, with the participation and consent of the vast majority of people, so it wouldn't be democratic for the tiny minority of people who support the idea now to spell out in precise detail how it's going to work. At present it's possible only to show that such a society could work, and make some informed speculation as to how it might operate.
You're correct in pointing out that world socialism is far from a new idea; the Socialist Party of Great Britain has been advocating it, and nothing but, since its establishment in 1904. If you're interested in learning more about our vision for the future, check out the website of the World Socialist Movement and its companion parties. There is lots of literature available there, and also in printed form available to order. —Psychonaut 13:24, 30 October 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

For now, the easiest reference to find the related articles is Book:The Future We Deserve. Now, where is that cat/article herding bot?!  ;-) --RichardF 09:59, 11 March 2013 (PDT)
Can I just add them all to a category? Joeturner 10:01, 11 March 2013 (PDT)
If you want, there's only 100. :-) I'd use Category:TheFWD. --RichardF 10:09, 11 March 2013 (PDT)
