Sesame seeds are the seeds from the flowering plant Sesamum indicum.[1] The seeds are cultivated from naturalized plant forms.
Sesame seeds are edible and have many culinary uses. They are often used as a topping on baked goods and sweets. They are the main ingredients of sweet crackers that consist of layers of sesame seeds with sugar syrup.
