- Local coordinator and community of volunteers/participants - Appropedians.

- Meet occasionally within a context of like-minded people, at RCC events, academic conferences or EWB events?
Virtual[edit | edit source]
Private social network, something like the Yammer network used by Hub (incl. Hub Melbourne). A group of localized StatusNet networks? Requirements:
- Complements local communities
- Enjoyable and increases feeling of connection
- Easily accessible
- Allows subgroups as well as following everything across the network. (Is it possible to view the feed for multiple StatusNet networks at once? Probably not hard to hack.
- Tagging
- Ease of posting
- Ease of scanning or reading the flow of updates
- Ease of following conversations
- Possible to mute users (perhaps only see their posts if a conversation starts)
- Full history is accessible to the users.
