Manual control should be possible in most designs - opening & closing the apertures to various degrees. As it states further on "many windcatchers can be controlled to open and close at different sides to suit the direction of the traveling wind."

Perhaps there are some design considerations to discuss here - e.g. consider easy controls, that can be adjusted with the turn of a handle, to adjust a window's opening. --Chriswaterguy 04:08, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
