Name: Melinda Spencer I am a Journalism major who is two classes away from her degree!!! (This is one of the two classes.) I work for an author in Los Angeles as a Public Relations Manager and for a New York television company in their social networking department. I am a member of and Public Relations officer for The Marching Lumberjacks. I like long walks on the beach and Nerf gun fights with my boyfriend. Traveling and trying new foods are two of my favorite things and I hope to never grow up.
Interests in Technology and the Environment
I am interested to see the results of our "Green Revolution." All of the technologies we are using today are fairly new and we do not know the long-term effects these technologies will actually have on our environment. I don't mean to sound cynical but I think the best thing the planet can do is hit the reset button again. She's done it before and it's bound to happen again. I am interested in ways to allow people to maintain their everyday lives and reduce their footprint at the same time. I would like to see a safe and efficient alternative energy vehicle within my lifetime.

Most of my activism work lies in human rights. I have been a gay activist for about six years. I started the Gay, Straight Alliance Club at my high school, took part in many demonstrations and taught in a symposium for my school district as a high school student.
