Introduction

Hi there! My name is Lewis Marshall. I'm currently an Undergraduate Student at Michigan Tech working on a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science Engineering, after which I will be pursuing a PhD in the same field. I was previously Valedictorian of Oxford High School's Class of 2014, and have earned an International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Making the technology of today accessible to all people is the best way to bring peace and prosperity to all.

Interests

I'm interested in a wide range of evidently un-releated things. I recently discovered Pykrete, a strange mix of sawdust and ice, which is much stronger than normal forms of ice. After some experimentation, and limited resources, I found that it also works with cardboard and paper. I imagine the forces at work in this situation are much different than those at work in regular Pykrete, but it interests me nonetheless.

I also have a history with aluminium casting, first using polystyrenes as one-time molds, and then progressing onto the use of 3D printed molds, out of PLA. This allows for much finer detail, and still allows for the plastics to evaporate out of the casting.
