About Me
Name: A.J. Castillo I am a student at Humboldt State University. I am a transfer Junior student from Fresno City College and I am currently studying English. I enjoy playing football and will be playing for the HSU football team.
Interests in Technology and the Environment
- I grew up in an area of agriculture and lived 5 mins away from "the raisin capital of the world", Selma Ca. I have always been interested in the lifestyle of a farmer and how their work meshes with the environment.
- My hometown is the home to a Sun Maid and Del Monte who distribute raisin and fruit to many grocery stores. I have always been interested in the work behind the factories.
- I am interested on how big of a roll one community can play in recycling and being eco-friendly.
Experience in Technology and/or the Environment
- My Dad worked many years supervising fruit packing sheds and I got a first hand expierence seeing that process in work.
- I have done work on my grandpas land where he farms raisins.
- I have seen some of the machinerey and technology needed to handle and run a farm.
