  • In the way-back machine:
    • 1977 - I put "modem.asm" in the CP/M User's group volume 6 which became the xmodem protocol, a name chosen by Keith Petersen, because obviously "modem" was too generic a term.
    • 1978 - I suggested the idea of a computer club dial-in system, and buddy Randy Suess said no, just the two of us (no "committee" stuff) and said he'd do the HW and I should do the SW.
      • Within 2 weeks, we had a prototype running, and officially declared Feb 17, 1978 as the "birthday" of what I called "CBBS" - Computerized Bulletin Board System
