Current Projects[edit | edit source]

Queen's Solar Design Team[edit | edit source]

I have been a member of this team since the transition to a solar building team from a solar vehicle team. The QSDT has been building world-class solar vehicles since 1988. While our vehicles brought us to the forefront of innovation, our home will push us even further as we challenge the limits of green building and innovation. Our goal is to compete on the world stage in the 2011 U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon. I look forward to our acceptance into this competition and working with the team to develop a brand new home meanwhile learning about project management and building design/construction.

Mechanical Engineering Thesis[edit | edit source]

I am currently working with Dr. Pearce to develop the basis for a iPhone application that will allow home owners to perform their own home energy audit.

Areas of Experience[edit | edit source]

I have completed a mechanical engineering design/research project in the area of integrated solar photovoltaic and thermal panels.

I have built a simple rainwater catchment and distribution system.

I have several summers experience in the natural gas production industry. There I learned about; field operating, environmental effects, health and safety awareness, CO2 sequestration and injection, borehole drilling, well design and well completion technology.

I worked for a underfloor heating company and have a good understanding of that technology.

I have a large interest in both cook and humanitarian aid which lead me to start re-working Third World Recipes for First World Countries in order to help underprivileged families eat healthy meals.
