I am a mid-40's aged person interested in healthy, green, sustainable living. I grew up around that sort of outlook, between the living habits of parents and hearing the old Native American stories told to me on a grandmother's lap when very young. I have gardened mostly organically for years, and am finally convincing my significant other that a tiller was highly unnecessary. Composting and recycling is a way of life for me, and I try to get my children to understand the importance of living that way, as well.. I grew up in a family having chickens and cows, but I have not been around either on a daily basis for years - this is about to change. This spring (2011) will be the first foray into raising chickens that I have had in 3 1/2 decades.
I am a mechanic working on semi-trailers, and am handy with woodworking & construction as well as mechanical things. I have a deep love of all living things, and believe I inherited the Native American outlook of my grandmother on the spirituality inherent in all parts of nature.
