Animal trapping, or simply trapping, is the use of a device to remotely catch an animal. Animals may be trapped for a variety of purposes, including food, wildlife management, or pest control. Trapping may also specify the capture of mammals for their furs, which are then used for clothes and other articles, or sold/bartered.
