Useful Gm crops[edit source]

The article still doesn't decribe which GM crops are actually usable. At present, actually not a single one is (as they all produce still fertile seeds), but even if this is achieved, we'll need to look at which crops (eg staple crops, some additional crops) are actually useful. This can again only be done by analysing the currently consumed staple and additional crops (we"ll still need to make a map, ... for this).

Then, we'll need to look which minerals/vitamins are unsufficient in the diets of these countries and look which GM crops can be used to correct this.

Possible candidates:

  • Protato (protein enriched potato)
  • Supersorghum (sorghum enriched with iron, zinc, vitamin A and E from Africa Biofortified Sorghum)
  • I also remembered a disease-resistant sorghum (or was it rice) from an indian company, need to look into this
