Abstract[edit | edit source]

This fish hook remover is a utensil that can be used to help people that need to get a hook out of their fingers or wherever the hook is. There are hook removers on the market but being able to print the hook remover is cheaper and you can get multiple hooks in a short period of time. It takes 14 minutes to print one hook remover.

Bill of Materials[edit | edit source]

  1. BOM -- PLA filament, I used 0.66m and it is only $0.01452.

Tools needed[edit | edit source]

  1. Jellybox or similar RepRap 3-D printer

Skills and knowledge needed[edit | edit source]

  • Need to use a designing program that is open source. In this case, I used freeCAD

Technical Specifications and Assembly Instructions[edit | edit source]

  1. use the G code to print in the 3D printer and wait for it to finit and then take the rim off.
  2. Include print time estimate: 14 minutes
  3. Include assembly time estimate: 1 minute
  4. Including drawings or pictures of the device at stage of assembly at minimum. (Upload)

Common Problems and Solutions[edit | edit source]

  • the utensil can break after it is printed so be careful when you the rim off. let the hook remover cool for a minute before taking the rim off.

  • If your solution is not a low-cost one then it is not really appropriate.
