A schematic of a smokeless stove (inspired by Dick Strawbridge's Planet Mechanics' Heavy Metal House stove, and the Rocket Lorena stove). 2 methods of making the stove emissionless are possible, hence there are 2 schematics drawn.
- A: fireplace door
- B: ashtray
- C: grating
- D: fire
- E: waterheating tank
- F: (cold) water inlet
- F1: (manual) valve (fosset)
- F2: (manual) valve (fosset)
- G: (hot) water outlet (ie to shower tank, ...)
- H: (manual) waterpump
- I: (removable), flat, top stove plate
- J: flat top fasteners (fastens plate to lower section of stove)
- K: flue
- L1: heat exchanger (radiator)
- L2: wet scrubber
- L3: water inlet for wet scrubber
- L4: dirty water outlet
- M: gas pump
- N: soil
- O: smokepipe dislodges the smoke under the soil (method 1)
- O: smokepipe dislodges in the air (method 2)
It should be noted that there is one major disadvantage: hot water can only be obtained when the stove is used (for cooking). Since cooking is done at noon/night (when people tend do have dinner, and not ie have a shower, ...) and since a stove is only used for a very short duration, this isn't a very suitable solution. Instead, a fireplace that also has a top that is heated (allowing to place pots on) seems a better solution.
