Portrait of Deisy Salazar, 53, and husband Edgardo Rosales, 52, showing their first Cacao harvest of their farm"Los Rosales"Cacao Farm. These farmers initially grew coffee, but after it was affected by leaf rust, they were for to start over on their farm in Izalco, Sonsonate, El Salvador. They saw Cacao as an alternative and with the help of Catholic Relief Services'Cacao Alliance program could start to ferment and sell Cacao to the local market."I think our Cacao Farm is like our baby, one gives it love because we look after it since from seed to tree, and when it gives its harvest we feel happy. I feel a great love towards my Cacao trees. I even kiss them. My husband tells me. What are you doing. I tell him. I am in love with my Cacao trees. I feel happy to work in my farm. I even pray for may farm. I do it with love and enjoy the work in the field".
