Critical aims in our fundraising efforts include:
- Server costs
- Site development:
- adding features to serve effective knowledge-sharing and community.
- streamlining the code and skin for low-bandwidth connections.
The next goals include:
- Promotional and advocacy costs, including travel costs by members of the Appropedia Foundation. (Basic expenses - no First Class junkets here.)
- Staff: The Appropedia Foundation is currently 100% volunteer run. While obviously volunteers continue to do wonderful work, having staff would enable focused work on much-need projects, and consistent work in key roles: (look at OLPC for ideas and titles)
- Promotion
- Community management
- Content (not as an "authority" but to do some of the hard slog work, and strategizing that requires knowledge management skills and an intimate knowledge of the site.)
