This is a technical guideline.
The notice at the bottom of every page has a notice of this form:
- "This page was last modified [time, date] by [User1]. Based on work by [User2 - who first created the page] and [User 3, User4, User5... - who also edited the page] of Appropedia.
When a page is created by an anonymous user who later creates an account, the account holder will not be credited in the banner as. Also, if someone starts the page as a small stub, or if one user creates the page as a placeholder (to help another person start a page) then it may also be that the main contributor is not properly credited. The code for this attribution notice will no doubt be improved over time; in the meantime, there is a rather crude way of changing the banner if attribution is important.

When moving a page (for whatever reason) be sure and leave a clear edit summary. And if doing it manually in order to change how the "Based on work by" notice displays at the bottom, note this in the edit summary, and be sure and replace the old page with a redirect. --Chriswaterguy · talk 00:55, 11 October 2007 (PDT)
