Pronatura México, A.C. was first created in 1981 and in the following years, regional and state representative offices were constituted. Together, they integrate Pronatura's National System, with strategies and actions oriented towards achieving the conservation and sustainable development of priority regions and sites for biodiversity preservation in the country.\"\n\n== Organization Summary ==\n\n=== Location ===\n\nCalle Pedro Moreno #1\n\nBarrio Santa Lucia, San Francisco\n\nSan Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas Mexico\n\n=== Contact info ===\n\n* Rafael Pale, Program Coordinator\n* email: rapalepe [at] yahoo.com.mx\n* website: [http://www.pronatura.org.mx/ http://www.pronatura.org.mx/]\n\n=== Main areas of work ===\n\n* Climate change\n* Private and social land conservation\n* Water\n* Green Funds\n* Priority Species\n\n== Stove program summary ==\n\n=== Name of stove ===\n\nJusta Plancha\n\n=== Stove description ===\n\nThe design was transferred to Pronatura by the Mexican Institute of Water Technology (IMTA) http://www.imta.mx/\nThis stove consists of a high efficiency combustion chamber with a plancha style cooking surface. The design was transferred to Pronatura in June of 2004. The original model was built with an adobe mix that was customized to each region's available material resources. Typical mix proportions are: 5 buckets of sand: 3buckets of earth: 0.5 buckets of cement. Molds were originally used to form a cone shaped primary combustion chamber as specified by the IMTA design. Pronatura is now abandoned the adobe mold method and is experimenting with bricks as the primary building material in an effort to increase the durability and lifetime of the stove. This modification increased the cost of the stove by 41% from 56 USD to 79 USD.\n\n=== Main objectives of stove program ===\n\n# Reduce total household time spent collecting and chopping wood\n# Improve indoor air quality\n# Forest Conservation\n\n=== Year started ===\n\n* 2004\n\n=== Number of stoves disseminated ===\n\n* 420\n\n=== Adoption rate ===\n\n* 95%\n\nNote: this is an estimate provided by the coordinator of the program and is not substantiated by an independent analysis.\n\n=== Communities served to date ===\n\nChamula - 200 stoves\n\n* Villages: Posuelo, Joltsemen, Saclamento, Zactsu\n\nSan Cristobal de las Casas – 100 stoves\n\n* Villages: Pinar, Yaalboc, Tasa de Agua\n\nCintalapa – 100 stoves\n\n* Villages: Monte Sinai, General Cardenas, Zapata, Benustian Carraza\n\nTapachula – 20 stoves\n\n{{Page data\n| license = CC-BY-SA-3.0\n| keywords = energy, Improved cook stoves, International development\n| sdg = SDG07 Affordable and clean energy, SDG11 Sustainable cities and communities\n}}\n\n[[Category:Health and safety]]\n[[Category:Energy]]\n[[Category:Improved cook stoves]]\n[[Category:International development]]"}
