An Outback inverter was used for this home. A charge controller is also included on the right side of the unit to ensure proper charge of the batteries. The batteries need to be charged at a certain rate and for a particular amount of time to keep the batteries from overcharging. A gas release tube is needed to prevent hydrochloric gas from entering the fuse box or room.\n\n<br>System overview:\n\n* .8 kilowatt\n* 4 panels\n* Inverter: Outback\n* Off grid system with battery back up\n* 120 volts\n\nCost:\n\n* $15,000\n\nEfficiency:\n\n* 20% efficient panels\n* 91% efficient in conversion in inverter\n* &lt;1% line loss\n* Additional 10% loss from chemical transition to and from batteries {{Categories needed}}\n\n{{Page data\n| license = CC-BY-SA-3.0\n}}"}
