The original rope pump is a relatively inexpensive solution for pumping water out of relatively deep man-made wells. Using multiple pistons connected to a rope, the pipe system sits partially underwater, while the user turns a crank above the well. As the crank turns, the rope is moved down into the well, up the pipe system, and around the crank wheel, repeating itself over and over again. As the rope passes through the partially submerged pipe system, these pistons connected to the rope draw water up the pipe system, to a spout at the surface, where the water can be used."],"Page image":["File:Ropepumpdiagram.jpg"],"Page keywords":["depth adjustable","water","pump","rope","pvc","Plastic","Wood"],"Page language":["en"],"Page license":["CC-BY-SA-3.0"],"Page title":["Depth-adjustable Rope Pump"],"Page views":[2552],"Page year":["Friday, 01-Jan-10 00:00:00 UTC"],"Project authors":["User:5gc17"],"Project cost":[34.18999999999999772626324556767940521240234375],"Project status":["Designed"],"Project thumb":["https://www.appropedia.org/w/images/thumb/0/00/Ropepumpdiagram.jpg/330px-Ropepumpdiagram.jpg"],"Project type":["Water pump"],"Project uses":["development"],"Project was made":[true],"Project was replicated":[false],"Project year":["Friday, 01-Jan-10 00:00:00 UTC"],"Modification date":["Tuesday, 18-Jun-24 17:22:17 UTC"]}
