Usage

Use this template to indicate that you, the uploader, are the author of an image file, and you placed it the public domain.

Adding this template to a file page adds the page to Category:User-created public domain files.

This template uses the Template:File other to prevent non-file pages that transclude this template from categorizing into Category:User-created public domain files.
