The Windowfarms Project[1] offers instructions to build "a vertical, indoor garden for growing food in your windows." This provides food and cools hot apartments in summer, turning sunlight into food.

Windowfarms has been featured by NPR, The New York Times, Grist, Art in America, Good Morning America, Wired Blog, the Martha Stewart Show and Ready Made magazine, among others.

Over 20,000 people have downloaded the instructions worldwide.
