But this I do know- I was at another student's house the other day and his host mom was asking me who washes my clothes and how they do it. I told her they have a machine and the maids are in charge of that chore. She got this look of superiority on her face, puffed out her chest, and tilted her nose up in the air as she declared "I wash all his (my friend's) clothes BY HAND."
