Advice on CCAT solar shower[edit source]

Hey,

Nice work so far. Here is some advice:

1. The reason for the dotted line around the text is the spaces before the text. The wiki automatically makes a box around text that is preceded by a space on a new line.
2. For the categories use the square brackets without the Tlc, e.g. "[[Category:Solar hot water]]" instead of " {{Tlc|Solar_hot_water}}".

Thanx for the advice, I think I am getting the hang of this so far. I will try the tables soon. I 
did the preformatted text because  it looked cool :-) , is that ok?

Hi David,

The page is looking great. I do like the formatted boxes that you are using, unfortunately they are generally frowned upon because they do not adapt to different screen sizes. This means that some of our readers, especially those in developing countries, with small monitors may not be able to read part of the page. It also makes it harder to edit with changing the formatting. Often on a wiki we exchange style for content, which leaves it sometimes less attractive but ultimately more accessible. Feel free to leave it as you have it and see if others come to change it.

Two other small changes. Take out the [[CCAT solar shower]] at the top of the page and add in a {{CCAT notice}} at the bottom (just above the categories). Thank you and keep up the great work.

I made the changes that you mentioned. Is there a way to indent each paragraph? Also, is inline css (cascading style sheets) available to put within the code?

Hi David,

Thanks for making the changes. I made a few more changes that are pretty small (took out some extra spaces and added a tag that states that a photo is needed). I also added headings, which is the typical way that a wiki page is formatted. This makes for easier reading, finding of information and editing (you can edit each section separately). Please feel free to revert that change if you do not like it.

To indent a paragraph use a colon. To indent just the first line of the paragraph, you will need to be creative, but hopefully the headings I added will make indenting unnecessary.

About the inline css. There are some features that you can use such as bold, italic, table tags (Help:Tables) and many image tags (Help:Images). In addition, you can use some inline CSS especially in tables (Help:Table_examples). Please feel free to try what you like and others (me) will come by and make comments.

Lonny, hello there, sorry that I havent been active lately. I am having trouble finding the help page that helps you transfer excel sheets into wikimedia. I remember that you went to a page where you could just copy the table and paste it on the page and it will convert it for you. Is it possible that you could post that link?
