Hi Anna,

I've just done a last edit of the "Learning from Poverty" page and it looks pretty good now. Just to let you know I teach English, Science and Math here in Canada. If any of the language is too technical please just let me know. I am currently working on a homebuilt gasification stove project on this site some of which might be "appropriate technology" for poor countries. To give you a headstart the design will be based on the midge stove which is used for camping and made from tin cans so materials are readily available almost universally. In area's where tin cans are not available clay can be suitably shaped. I'll be looking for more things to help with as well as my own projects.

Talk to you later.

Greetings and suggestions[edit source]

Hi Anna,

Great work on the most recent how to ported from Demotech. You seem to really be getting a hang of it, and we appreicate your content. Here is a suggestion and a question:

  • When you make a comment on a discussion, please sign your name by using the following code, --~~~~. This will automatically, append your name and date to the message.
  • How do you feel about a tag that points contributors to pages that could use some language editting? Do you feel that your pages could benefit from that?

Keep up the great work, --Lonny 03:28, 2 November 2006 (PST)

Added Category Demotech[edit source]

Hi Anna,

We have promoted your organization page, Demotech, design for self-reliance, to its own category - Category:Demotech. This has been done because of the high level of contribution from your organization and allows user of Appropedia to see, in one place, the users and the pages ported from your organization. I have added the category demotech to your user page so that you show up listed at Category:Demotech.

Recently an anonymous user made a few small grammatical changes to your ported page DemoSticks_displays, you can see the changes by clicking the history tab on that page, and then comparing the versions [1].

Thank you for your, and your organizations, excellent work, --Lonny 13:29, 12 November 2006 (PST)

Wow, great additions[edit source]

Hi Anna,

As always, thank you for your great submissions. I moved around a couple of pages. I moved Robe Pump to Rope pump, please let me know if I am wrong in assuming that Robe was a typo. I also moved Learning from Poverty to Demotech/Learning from Poverty, as this is a statement from your organization. If you do not like the new location, another option is the title Demotech learning from poverty, a title that reflects that it is a statement from Demotech.

In a presentation at an International Education Week conference yesterday, I highlighted your organization as an organization working in partnership with Appropedia. Thank you for all of your great work. --Lonny 12:17, 16 November 2006 (PST)

Two Demotech pages[edit source]

Hi Anna,

Good to see you still here and contributing!

I was thinking of renaming page Category:Demotech/Learning from Poverty, and categorizing it. Is it meant to be just Demotech related, or a general topic or discussion page? I think it's best as a general page, but perhaps with a notice stating that some material came from Demotech.

And re Category:Demotech/Porting content - can we move this material to Appropedia:Porting pages and/or Category:Demotech#Porting pages?

Cheers --Singkong2005 · talk 00:26, 2 January 2007 (PST)

Hello singkong, "Learning from poverty" is a statement from demotech, but I think it would benefit from "public" discussion... everyone should be invited to add comments or criticism... So, I agree with your idea to turn it into a general page, but keeping a reference to demotech. In my opinion, the material from Category:Demotech/Porting content can be moved to Appropedia:Porting pages... sorry, for the late response! greetings and a happy new year --Demotech (anna) 03:03, 8 January 2007 (PST)
