I moved your page to the main space, and it should now be more accessible.: Gravity fed drip irrigation, semi-automated. You can rename it to whatever you want by clicking "move" at the top of the page: [1]. I'd recommend something like Steve O's gravity-fed, semi-automated irrigation. I fixed the categories and removed the stub as well.

Drip irrigation spike

I want to control the water drip rate at the plant by incorporating a stepper motor (preferably recycled from old DVD) into the spike to squeeze something, the hose or a rubber end or something, (that's for you to decide) increasing/decreasing water flow. Directly below where the drip leaves the spike I want it to hit the ends of 2 wires, causing a short circuit which the computer counts to determine if the motor needs to adjust the pressure. A common 1/4" hose is to be used. Wires need to be attached to the spike 4 for the motor and 2 for the detector.

Maybe a moisture detector could be built into the end of the spike with a mark on the spike at a specific depth so measurement depth can be the same for all plants.

Any questions?

I want to personally thank you for taking the time to help me. With this project I intend to help eliminate hunger from the earth.

Thanks!

Thanks for the update on Gravity fed drip irrigation, semi-automated. I am glad to hear it is working...and hope those next dreams get met! --Lonny (talk) 05:00, 18 December 2018 (PST)
