A common and efficient form of urban agriculture is the biointensive method. Since urban agriculture promotes energy-saving local food production, urban and peri-urban agriculture are generally seen as sustainable practices.

• Soil Contamination: Recommend to strike these last two sentences since they seem unrelated to the first sentence.

The importance of local food is often overstated, as the manner of production typically has a greater impact than the manner of transport. This case does not negate the value of growing food locally, but perspective and analysis are essential.

• Land Access and Property Rights: Recommend to strike last sentence since it doesn't seem related to the other sentences.

Including urban agriculture in local plans as proper land use will continue to help impoverished communities gain a better well-being while fighting urban poverty.
