About Me
Name: Stanley Instness
- Humboldt State University Student
- Environmental Science (Energy and Climate option)
- In addition to wrapping up my degree at Humboldt this Spring, I will be searching for a new career. I am a Navy veteran. My job in the Navy was a nuclear machinst mate. I have experience working on Nimitz Class nuclear aircraft carriers. Although I'm proud of my experience, I am looking forward to a career in a much more "organic" environment.
Interests in Appropriate Technology
- Alternative building materials
- Passive heating and cooling designs
- Organic gardening
Experience in Appropriate Technology
- I was in 4-H as a kid. I had horses and raised market hogs.
- Basic construction and shop experience. I participated in VICA and I was on my high school construction team.
- Following directions and showing up. Seriously, 80% of success is showing up. I can also read and understand technical documents and drawings.
