I am an Environmental Resource Engineering student at Humboldt State University. My freshman year at HSU with my team P.I.E. through Design I helped construct a Pico Hydro Generator WaterPod Pico in a Bucket, based on work by Sam Redfield at AIDG, to supply a portion of the WaterPod exhibition's energy demands. The summer of 2010 I participated in Lonny Grafman's summer appropriate technology program in Chiapas, Mexico. With my team mates, Jessica Lamb User:Jessica.s.lamb, Matt Allan User:Mattallan and Rachel Rivera User:Rayrivera, I completed a microhydro feasibility study HSU Chiapas micro hydro feasibility study with the software RetScreen[1] for a small village on the outskirts of San Cristóbal de las Casas. The summer of 2011 I am acting as T.A. for Lonny Grafman's summer appropriate technology program in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. At the end of this program I will travel to the Ecuadorian Amazon to work with the Amazon Mycorenewal Project field testing mycoremediation techniques [2].
