It's all interrelated, but my initial idea was to focus on "global warming", as that might capture people's imagination & emotion (motion). Goals that are related directly?
Another element would be actionability, with different flavours.
If we find or develop a couple of useful concepts/organising ideas/self-positioning metrics, this could go onto Wikipedia.
Such concepts might include:
* Does it matter / make a difference? See list above.
* What kind of action is needed? Changing my behaviour, gathering resources, inventing something, finding out how to make something available to someone...
* Does it need cooperation? If so, what is needed to facilitate that cooperation?

The ideas that there is climate change, that part of it is a function of human activities, that humans should do things differently, and that I personally should be doing something, seem to be getting more traction. It might be a slow process or a fast one, and if there's an explosive change in speed (awareness reaches boiling point and we all demand action) then that explosion might happen soon or later. Here, we're thinking about making rapid effective change easier and more powerful, in the same way an exit sign sits there waiting for a fire in the building: it does nothing until people pay attention, and as soon as they do it becomes very useful because it tells you door A takes you out of the building but doors B to E do not.

The assumption here is that more and more people will smell the coffee. But we're all different, in many ways (knowledge, resources, personality, whatever), so rather than one exit sign it's more like a circus, where I can serve as a clown but will not get close to the lions. So how do we map what is or will be needed, so that many will find where to contribute and how?

This page is a sandbox for a few of us to play with some ideas. Initial contributors will be @bjelkeman, @devyn_remme and @lucasgonzalez. This is on! ...

I was thinking we need a list/table/database of global challenges, roughly in the order of priority to deal with, and a set of projects or organisations that work on these that anyone can engage with.

When looking around there are several lists that people and organisations have worked on already. Maybe we should start from there.
