I have lived in Humboldt County for the last 12 years. I am currently a senior at Cal Poly Humboldt working towards my Bachelor's of Science degree in Environmental Science and Management: Energy and Climate, minoring in Environmental Policy. I am passionate about energy use reduction, the food industry as well as food policy, and working towards mitigating the coming climate chaos.

- David Wallace-Wells is an American non-scientific voice who was tasked with writing an article on climate change when his research changed his life and forever altered his perspective on climate change. I encourage you to listen to the below (free) podcast, and if that peaks your interest to pick up his book "The Uninhabitable Earth" because it is excellently written and extremely eye-opening. Note: the book is heavy and can be overwhelming for those less educated in climate change, I suggest taking it a chapter at a time.

- E.O. Wilson is a highly-acclaimed American naturalist, biologist, and writer. He is often referred to as the "father of biodiversity". Wilson has written several books containing many thought-provoking and insightful ideas about how humans can coexist on this planet for generations to come. Specifically, he has proposed the "half Earth" theory where half of the Earth would be devoted to untouched nature and humans would live on the other half. While he has many books, I most recently read "The Future of Life". I highly recommend it if you're looking for another insightful (yet more uplifting) read into the changes climate change has presented within a single lifetime and proposed future actions.
