Before being able to determine the cause of the disease or malady, accurate diagnosis is required. This may be done manually (through observation, inquiries) and by specialised tools. For this, villagers can be trained and can then monitor other villagers for maladies. Trained villagers have shown to be able to eliminate 80% of the health problems in other projects. Small (low-cost) hospitals - based on the model of the Jamkhed hospital – can remedy another 15%, while only 5% will need to go to a larger (more expensive) hospitals.

Genetic disease immunity
The best method to stay healthy is to ensure that your body is immune to most pathogens. This ensures that no matter what infection we get, the body is capable of defeating the pathogen before we get ill at all. Although we can not decide ourselves with what body we are born, we can decide what genetic defense we give to our descendants. For this, selective propogation and sterilisation are important tools to use, not only in the developing world (which has received the greatest population increase), but globally aswell. As the Overpopulation has already reached 300%, global incentives are expected soon yet must at the moment still require to be implemented manually into Appropriate health care. See Appropriate health care manual 2
