Current Projects

  1. Viability of Recycling Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) in Photovoltaic Cells - This is a class project for Introduction to Semiconductors MY3701 offered at Michigan Technological University for the Material Science and Engineering Department. I and two of my peers were given the challenge to find a product that contained semiconductors, and then find the pros and cons of creating a business based on recycling the semiconductor from the waste. Our project should be profitable, as photovoltaic cells are basically one large semiconductor, but the challenge will be in how the old semiconductor material will be purified and reused.
  2. Advanced Metalwork Enterprise [1]- This enterprise is working for Arcelor Mittal in the steel division. The objective is to create better tapping bits for drilling into the blast furnaces. The bits should have high heat resistance to deformation, effectively drill through approximately 8 feet of a cement like material, and cost roughly $20 (US).
  3. Children's Museum Exhibit Enterprise - This is a side enterprise project that is focused on developing teaming throughout different fields of engineering. I lead this team, and our project is a hands-on learning station for electric circuits, magnetism, and electromagnetism.
