“TReND in Africa”, which stands for Teaching and Research in (Neuro)science for Development in Africa, is non-profit organization run entirely by volunteer scientists at universities worldwide.

This group wants to promote neurosciences but they decided first to organize workshops in different African countries in order to train people with 3D printing, Arduino electronic platform and Python software used to program Raspbery Pi computer. They also produce some open source designs. http://web.archive.org/web/20200118084850/http://trendinafrica.org:80/activities/open-source/open-source-main/
