I've got another video, but I'm not sure how to fit this one in thematically; in either this article or Appropedia as a whole. Something about traditional versus appropriate technologies, perhaps. This is a very old documentary that shows many of the hand crafts and pre-industrial machines used in Korea at the beginning of the 20th Century. There's something of a resurgence of interest in forgotten traditions in South Korea right now. I wish I could give a copy of this to everyone in the whole country.

Hi Ethan, as a general rule of thumb I tend to prefer video under 5 mins for embedding, although of course exceptions if anything particularly relevant or well done. I watched the first few minutes of this but nothing apparently in English which makes it impractical to review. If you think it relevant one option is to include a link only to the video on youtube eg "In the Land of Morning Calm on youtube under '''Video''' under ''Resources'', including intro text as above: "Something about traditional versus appropriate technologies, perhaps. I'm thinking I might make a viewer's guide for it, or something like that, as I know German and a bit of Korean. Who knows, I might get ambitious and edit the film itself to insert English intertitles. It's not exactly "front page" CAS material, for sure. I guess what I'm trying to get at is I want to think about how traditional technology is relevant to appropriate technology or sustainability more generally. I'm wondering if there's a way we can integrate more information along these lines into Appropedia/CAS overall. Anyway, just food for thought at the moment. It's something I'll be mulling over as I work on other tasks --Ethan (talk) 12:50, 18 August 2015 (PDT)
