Clothesline

I really liked the fact that you used clotheslines. I see them everywhere down here in Parras, Mexico and they are such a good idea. They should be used everywhere! --Iem4 15:28, 7 June 2006 (PDT)

Actually they're better than the page says. They can be used at night, although they do go more slowly. They also operate on wind, and are driven by the difference between the vapor pressure of the wet clothes and the actual humidity level of the surrounding air. Wind speeds up the process; the sun adds energy and changes the equations (increased heat --> increased vapor pressure).
Actually, out of sunlight is better for colored clothes, and it still works - see Washing and drying clothes. --Chriswaterguy · talk 11:24, 18 October 2007 (PDT)
