Comparison with standard hexayurt

I'm sure there's some loss of strength, and stability in wind. But those can be largely handled with a little extra material in the right places, and some extra attention to tying down. Well worth it for the greater usability.

Actually, for a given scale, e.g. an 8' hexayurt, it gives usability comparable to the next size up, I expect. So any comparisons need to be made on that basis, and that way, it's looking even better. Good work! --Chriswaterguy 07:12, 20 May 2011 (PDT)

People at the Playa will be able to use it for the first time in 2011, as far as I know, given that the design was first published in Oct 2010. A number of folks may use the folding hinges designed by Camp and Danger, which allows for doing at least some testing at home, and then much harsher testing at the Playa.

In short, we'll see, learn and keep on trying. I'm hoping people will keep documenting the heck out of it, preferrably at appropedia of course.

Oh, and if there's some structural engineers out there, their input would be really great. Just saying. LucasG 08:32, 20 May 2011 (PDT)

Building H13 for 2015 burn

Hi! I have been borrowing liberally from this website. I am constructing an H13 for use at Burningman 2015. I will be constructing it using 1 1/2" foam panels with foil on both sides. The wiki has been very helpful and I have read through all Camp Danger material as well as the main page, I plan on giving feedback with strength and durability for future reference, as well as adding any other pictures/knowledge I can for future users. While I am not a structural engineer I do have engineering experience so I am looking for ways to improve the design (in regards to hinging/folding as it looks like Danger has only done it with models and is showing two separate ways to fold/store). --Sarcassity (talk) 21:26, 10 August 2015 (PDT)
