Cause for concern about diet[edit source]

"A search of the literature (McNeely 2004) suggests the concern that the GKR may be adapted to invasive or non-native species, " - I'm guessing this is a concern because by eating a particular plant, it helps to spread that plant? (E.g. by seeds passing through into its droppings.) --Chriswaterguy 21:00, 10 July 2011 (PDT)

That's a fair question. What I meant was that the GKR may be adapted such that modification of the environment back to the "baseline" (which has now shifted) might have a paradoxical unintended consequence of harming the animals. Similar issues come up on the Rigs to Reefs. But yes they spread seeds. Speaking of seeds, I am pushing the policy envelope with my next new article idea... Geo BardRap 19:24, 11 July 2011 (PDT)
