This chart is a great resource. I have been cutting wood, for myself, and to sell, since 1972. I mostly use Maple, Cherry, White Ash, and some Yellow Birch, but will burn almost anything. the softer, lesser BTU woods are OK in warmer weather, and burning them, plus small pieces from the tops helps eliminate waste. I cook a lot on a wood stove in the winter months, and use a lot of small, down to 2 inch diameter branches in making a hot cooking fire.

Hi Steve,
Thanks. Glad you found it useful. --Lonny 02:33, 22 May 2007 (PDT)
At least on a Firefox browser, the table is nearly useless, in that the numerical figures are not aligned with the species names. That's a shame, because it's obviously a great resource. --Eric Walker, 15 October 2007
Hi Eric,
I have just checked on a few Firefox browsers, with no alignment problems. Could you check out this page and let me know if it is still not viewable? This will help us troubleshoot it. Thank you for the feedback, --Lonny 15:47, 15 October 2007 (PDT)
