I came to this website after Gooooooogling an idea. I like the idea of using straw bale building materials and rammed earth has some appeal too. So I thought why not use and old (new, or industrial) trash compactor to make building blocks. It sure beats standing in a plywood pit with a jackhammer pounding on dirt. If the compactor or series of compactors were the same width as a bobcat dozer then you could dump a bucket load right in ram it in the compactor pull out your block and build with it. Set it up in the middle of your foundation and you won't have to take the blocks too far to build with them. Has anyone tried this yet, with any success?
