  1. read the notes at Jottings on appropriate technology on differing definitions of Appropriate Technology.
  2. Find and record a photo and location for each of two local example ATs from Santo Domingo in groups of two
    • For each of the two topics, answer the following, preferably in Spanish, on a piece of paper:
      • Brief description such as type and application.
      • Location (address or coordinates)
      • Justification as Appropriate Technology based on a definition of AT.
      • Issues with its appropriateness based on a definition of AT.
      • Notes, such as phone number, if applicable.
  3. Post your AT examples to HSU Dominicana/AT Gallery. You might want to wait until after you do your userpage for more instructions on how.
  4. Start Appropedia user page
    1. Select and copy the text below
    2. Click your username (after logging in) in the upper right of Appropedia
    3. Paste the text
    4. Replace Capitalized words with your own
    5. Preview, summarize and save
    6. Add your photo (see this tutorial and/or this screencast for help on how).

  1. Add one more local example of appropriate technology to HSU_Dominicana/AT_Gallery. Please make sure to:
    • follow the gallery format
    • add your photo to the corresponding category of AT
    • try to add an image of something that hasn't been added yet
  2. Answer the following on a piece of paper:
    • A 0.5 m^2 panel is producing 50W, what is the efficiency of the panel?
    • For a 14% efficient panel how much space would you need to generate 800W?
    • If you need 6 kWh/day, how large of a solar array will you need to install given 18% efficient panels and 5.5 hours of full sun per day?
  3. Add a timeline to your project page (one per team).
