Jump rope handles. What more is there to be said? Kids who need exercise and either can't go running or can't leave the house can use these handles if they find a rope. The idea came from the education tab in the UNICEF Supply Catalog where under physical education they had mostly kick balls which could be expensive to replace all the time because of constant use or if it were to get lost. This provides a cheap alternative for either single use or could be used to make a big jump rope for 3+ people at a time.

Bill of Materials

You will need 35g of PLA filament. (About $1.15, varies on different suppliers) Media:A cranford jumprope v3.FCStd

  1. Jellybox or similar RepRap 3-D printer

Technical Specifications and Assembly Instructions

When printing it's best to print the handles up-side down with the height at about 140mm (Z coordinate). It's safest to use a raft and print both at once to save time. It will take 4 hours and 8 minutes to print the both of them.

Common Problems and Solutions

Make sure to have a raft so it wont break off while printing.

Cost savings

It should cost around $1.15 for the filament. Most other jump ropes cost at least $2 You will be saving about 43% the cost.
