In a nutshell: through Engineers Without Borders, we learned of a town in Nicaragua called Morrito. None of us had been there, but we had heard that the community was in pretty bad shape (see background materials below). So this summer we took our first trip. In short, we found a very poor fishing community with no industry to speak of, no library, and no municipal water supply. So after visiting with the community we are planning to build a library and computer center when we visit during our January 2009 trip. In time, we also hope to help with the water problem.
