Many how tos, or step-by-step guides, can be found in the how tos category.

Adding a how to to Appropedia

Video

Appropedia allows you to display (embed) videos hosted on Youtube or Vimeo. If you just wish to display a link, you can host it wherever you like.

If you uploaded your video to YouTube, you may embed the video directly on to any Appropedia page by using Widget:YouTube. To insert this widget, use the following code:

If you uploaded your video to Vimeo, you may embed the video directly on to any Appropedia page by using Widget:Vimeo. To insert this widget, use the following code:

[[Category:Videos]]{{#widget:Vimeo|id=REPLACEWITHVIDEOID}}

These codes automatically will add the video to Category:Videos. In addition, include at least one of the categories below that best represents the video's content.

Clear language

Appropedia greatly encourages language-neutral how-tos, i.e. how-tos that can be viewed and understood by those in any language. extremely clear line drawings and/or photographs can make this possible. Multilingual how-tos are also encouraged... actually how-tos, in general, are encouraged.
