Hemet California

Hemet was founded way back in in 1887 and was incorporated January 20, 1910.  The city of Hemet is located in the County of Riverside California, in the United States. Hemet covers an area of 27+ sq. miles. The city encompasses about half of the San Jacinto Valley.  Hemet shares the valley with the neighboring city San Jacinto. 

In 2011 the city's population is estimated to be more than 70,000+ according to recent data from the California Department of Finance. The creation of Lake Hemet aided in the growth of the agriculture in San Jacinto Valley. Ramona Pageant is the longest running play in the United States that is held outdoors exclusively.
