The use of userboxes is strongly encouraged on Appropedia.

Userboxes are a way to express yourself and network with other members of similar interests, and are an important part of networking on Appropedia. Adding one of these userboxes to your userpage, will place the userbox on your userpage, place a link to your userpage in a group page and possibly result in others asking you questions.

Organization membership userboxes are encouraged.

For an international organization or associated organizations, such as the Engineers Without Borders national organizations, the userbox should place the user in the national category and the root category. (e.g. Category:EWB Australia members and Category:EWB members).

The member categories for closely related or similar organizations should link to each other, perhaps under the See also heading. For example:

Usage

  1. Put {{userboxtop}} at the top,
  2. Add user box templates,
  3. Add {{userboxbottom}}.

See these pages for examples:

Making a userbox

Use {{userbox base}} - this keeps the layout standard, and the stack of userboxes will be nice and tidy. E.g. {{userbox tasks}} is made in this way.

Other userboxes

Note most of these don't use {{userbox base}}, thus they are very non-standard in shape. They could eventually be updated to use the base template.

See user templates for some userboxes, such as:
