Carrienoburden, you are doing wonderful work. I salute your dedication and agree wholeheartedly with your strategy of gathering data on low-tech, modest resource solutions to human life management infrastructure challenges. I have some thoughts I trust will be helpful about the line drawing-style illustration of the EcologicalDryToilets3.jpg.

1)The caption “Slab of cement with one hole for each chamber and a toilet sit (sic) on top” does not fit the picture shown. The picture does correlate more closely with the title above that caption: “Ecological Dry Toilet Chambers with Urine Separation”. It looks as though you have not yet had time to design the urine collection units, and it is challenging to design a technical cutaway view of the Dry Toilet featuring the slab with a sample hole and the urine collection unit illustrated together. That makes sense, given you’re busy traveling and may not have access to the time, facilities or tools to complete this drawing.

5)Finally, as time allows, a caption pointing to one of the illustrations of the urine collection unit locations and a caption pointing to the rear chamber access doors (once illustrated) would be helpful. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 1Humanity-1Future-1Purpose (talk • contribs) 12:23, 22 November 2010

*Thanks for the comments, I added another drawing that is hopefully close to what you are describing. It includes the collection unit and top slab, the chamber access doors are just made out of stacking bricks, and knocking them down when the time comes to scoop it out, but maybe that could be improved upon.

2)When you, or someone else reading these comments has an opportunity, it may be useful to illustrate the slab on top of the chambers, with a cutaway view depicting a urine collection unit in position just under the hole. The slab holes might be better illustrated using oval shapes set on a horizontal plane, perpendicular to the chamber side walls.

3)Also, chamber access doors might be designed to fit the openings presently in the back of the unit.

4)Perhaps it would be useful to illustrate the slab, and position it above the existing illustration.

5)Finally, as time allows, a caption pointing to one of the illustrations of the urine collection unit locations and a caption pointing to the rear chamber access doors (once illustrated) would be helpful. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 1Humanity-1Future-1Purpose (talkcontribs) 12:23, 22 November 2010

 • Thanks for the comments, I added another drawing that is hopefully close to what you are describing.
