'''Home zones'''
'''Green Pennant Award'''

A home zone is a living street (or group of streets) as implemented in the United Kingdom, which are designed primarily to meet the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, children and residents and where the speeds and dominance of the cars is reduced. Encouraging children's play is an important aim of many home zone schemes. Home Zones have a very good safety record, but are not primarily designed as road safety schemes. {{W|Home zone}}
The Green Flag Award itself is for public-run open spaces, but the same scheme runs an award for community/charity-run public spaces, such as Millennium Greens and Doorstep Greens called the Green Pennant Award. This scheme, started in 2002, has adapted the criteria for voluntary organisations.

Sites for a Green Pennant Award are judged against eight key criteria: {{W|Green_Flag_Award#Green_Pennant_Award}}

* A welcoming place
* Healthy, safe and secure
* Well maintained and clean
* Environmental sustainability
* Biodiversity and heritage
* Community involvement
* Achievement

It's likely that a 'village pump' type page (a sort of 'global' to-do list) specifically for CASwiki will be developed. In the meantime if you have any comments or suggestions please include them on our talk page
