Introduction
The following are proceedings from a breakout group at the Community Created Humboldt event on January 23rd, 2010.
Experiential Education & The Children Proceedings
- apprenticeship; awareness; kids resource web-site
- environmental classes specifically for living locally
- engage in everything you do
- awareness of problems; and importance/significance of education
- lead by example; parenting classes
- After school; community-based enrichment programs (energy, ag, building, etc.)
- offer free bus for kids so they can get to programs (empowers them)
- Kids resource web-site - Local programs; things to do; interactive: fun, games, video
- Apprenticeship programs - Ashland model; career opportunities
